Machine learning (ML) has been strategic to Amazon from the early years. We are pioneers in areas such as recommendation engines, product search, eCommerce fraud detection, and large-scale optimization of fulfillment center operations. The Research engineering team in AgentCore AI organization accelerates scientific discovery and research innovation of 1P code agents and AgentCore scientists by providing specialized engineering expertise that enables rapid experimentation, robust evaluation, and scalable research infrastructure. ML Engineers combine deep engineering expertise with scientific understanding to accelerate research experimentation. They balance researchers' need for rapid prototyping with reliable, scalable research systems, leveraging distributed computing and advanced tooling to ensure scientific experiments can be conducted efficiently and reproducibly.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and maintain infrastructure for evaluation and benchmarking of 1P coding agents and AgentCore agent primitives
  • Design and maintain end-to-end training pipelines and compute infrastructure to accelerate development of advanced AgentCore agent primitives while optimizing compute usage
  • Transform experimental generative AI artifacts into scalable systems by incorporating robust architectural components and good engineering practices

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Nice to have:

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
