Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Sr. Mainframe Systems SME to join our team in Southern California. In this long-term contract position, you will play a pivotal role in analyzing business requirements and driving the successful completion of various technical projects. The role requires onsite work four days/week.

Job Responsibility:

  • Collaborate with project managers and team leads to define and execute units of work, ranging from small enhancements to large-scale projects
  • Analyze business requirements and transform them into functional and detailed designs, ensuring alignment with project goals
  • Develop architectural solutions that meet application requirements while adhering to technology standards
  • Lead and conduct testing phases, including unit testing, integration testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing
  • Document processes, designs, and implementations to ensure clarity and accuracy throughout the project lifecycle
  • Provide regular status updates to project managers and team leads, ensuring transparency in project progress
  • Assist in the implementation and warranty phases of projects, ensuring smooth transitions and operational readiness
  • Collaborate across multiple disciplines to align technology strategies, standards, and roadmaps
  • Apply knowledge of Waterfall and Agile methodologies to optimize project workflows and outcomes

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in software engineering and solution architecture for medium to large-scale systems
  • Proficiency in DB2 and System Development Life Cycle concepts
  • Familiarity with Microsoft development technologies, including .NET Core, C#, and Angular
  • Strong understanding of multitier and cross-platform architectures
  • Experience with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines within an enterprise environment
  • Technical aptitude in infrastructure, networks, client-server systems, and emerging technology trends

Nice to have:

Knowledge of automotive parts systems, warehousing, and supply chain logistics is a plus
