This position is ideal for a paralegal who prides themselves on exceptional legal writing, strong analytical abilities, and the confidence to draft substantive litigation documents independently. In addition to traditional litigation responsibilities, this role offers exposure to regulatory matters before the Public Service Commission (PSC) — prior PSC experience is a plus but not required, as training will be provided. This is a great opportunity for a proactive, detail‑driven paralegal ready to operate at a high level and support complex defense work.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide full lifecycle litigation support across a diverse portfolio of insurance defense matters
  • Draft and prepare high‑quality legal documents including: Interrogatories and responses
  • Motions
  • Briefs
  • Legal memoranda
  • Affidavits and supporting exhibits
  • Manage all aspects of discovery, including document production, deposition preparation, and deadline tracking
  • Assist attorneys with trial preparation, organization of case files, and pre‑filing documentation
  • Support rate cases and regulatory filings before the Public Service Commission (PSC)
  • Compile evidentiary materials, coordinate internal data collection, and prepare filings for submission
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely compliance with regulatory deadlines
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research using LexisNexis, Westlaw, or equivalent tools
  • Draft persuasive, well‑structured legal documents with minimal supervision
  • Analyze complex legal and factual issues, synthesizing findings into clear recommendations
  • Communicate professionally and efficiently with attorneys, regulators, and internal teams
  • Tailor writing style depending on audience — legal, regulatory, or internal

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Significant experience as a Litigation Paralegal, with strong exposure to insurance defense
  • Demonstrated expertise in: Discovery management
  • Interrogatory drafting
  • Legal writing (motions, briefs, memos)
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor

Nice to have:

PSC or regulatory experience is a strong plus, but not mandatory

What we offer:
  • medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance
  • eligible to enroll in our company 401(k) plan
  • free online training
