Job Description:

We are looking for a contractor to perform maintenance and troubleshooting for a software system being decommissioned. This role involves maintaining SQL Server databases, developing and troubleshooting SSIS packages, supporting .NET-based applications, monitoring SQL Server Agent jobs, and optionally managing IIS configurations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting problems for end users
  • Ensure data integrity and reliability during SSIS package execution
  • Support existing homegrown tools such as commissions and territory management
  • Configure and monitor SQL Server Agent jobs, event chains, and performance metrics
  • Perform configurations, updates, and decommissioning tasks for IIS as necessary

Requirements:

  • Develop, write, and optimize complex SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data efficiently
  • Design, write, update and maintain stored procedures
  • Use SQL Server Agent to schedule and manage jobs and to automate SSIS package execution
  • Monitor job execution and troubleshoot any issues that arise
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of database structures, processes, and procedures
  • Communicate effectively to ensure alignment and understanding of database-related tasks and projects
  • Develop, deploy and maintain SSIS packages
  • Design data flow tasks, control flow tasks, and use various SSIS components such as data sources, transformations, and destinations
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the execution of SSIS packages, ensuring data integrity and reliability
  • Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to support SSIS operations
  • Document SSIS package configurations and processes
  • Write, debug and optimize C# code
  • Experience with ASP.NET and ASP.NET MVC in order to support existing web applications using these frameworks
  • Design and manage databases, and integrate them with .NET applications
  • Configure and monitor SQL Server Agent jobs, event chains, and performance metrics
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to jobs and event chains
  • Configure alerts and notifications for job failures and performance issues
  • Manage IIS including resetting application pools, configuring and decommissioning websites
  • Troubleshoot IIS related issues
  • Knowledge of URL rewrite rules to manage URL redirection and enhance security
