Job Description:

Our Specialist Teacher roles allow you to provide one-to-one support for the most in-need young people, working across specialisms as a SEND Tutor, Intervention Tutor, and Specialist Teacher! You can inspire young people to re-engage with education and discover the joy of learning. When you want to grow your career beyond the classroom, you can become a Specialist Teacher, delivering sessions of learning in the young people’s homes and out in the community, motivating students with creative, interest-based learning.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop strong relationships with children and young people who have a range of needs and who have often experienced significant difficulties in previous education settings
  • Provide in person, online/remote, and hybrid support to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
  • Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 – KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring tailored to the young person’s needs, EHCP, and risk assessment
  • Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of post-NQT teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
  • Understanding of how to work in a child-centred, holistic way
  • you will have the ingenuity and creativity to make the curriculum work in an individual, student-centred way
  • Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
  • You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote/online jobs
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment
