Job Description:

We are actively seeking a qualified and experienced Specialist Study Skills Tutor (SPLD) to join our team and provide academic support to students at University Campus North Lincolnshire (UCNL) in Scunthorpe. The position offers flexible working hours and a part-time commitment to make a significant impact on the academic success of students with Specific Learning Difficulties (SPLD).

Job Responsibility:

Provide high-quality, one-to-one academic support to students with Specific Learning Difficulties (SPLD)
Develop and implement individualised learning plans tailored to each student's unique needs
Guide students in developing independence, building on strengths, and improving learning strategies
Assist students in enhancing organisation, time management, and research skills
Support students in improving comprehension, reading, and writing skills
Ensure all concerns are addressed promptly and professionally, maintaining confidentiality at all times
Collaborate with Randstad to ensure the best possible service for students
Offer both in-person and online sessions flexibly

Requirements:

Membership with the British Dyslexia Association (BDA), Association of Dyslexia (ADSHE), Dyslexia Guild, or the Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Experience working with clients with specific learning difficulties
Punctual, reliable, and strong organisational skills
Ability to manage a diverse caseload of students
Ability to identify and support students to build on their learning strengths while maintaining a confidential and professional relationship

Nice to have:

Experience working with students
Knowledge of SPLD
Understanding of DSA framework
