Job Description:

Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant role in a specialist setting for 221 pupils, all of whom have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP). The role involves working as part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team alongside speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and school nurses to help pupils overcome barriers to learning.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support pupils both individually and in small groups
  • Work closely with class teachers to implement highly personalised learning plans
  • Assist with classroom activities
  • Contribute to a nurturing and engaging learning environment
  • Support pupils with diverse challenges, ensuring their well-being, safety, and access to all learning opportunities

Requirements:

  • Experienced in supporting children with complex learning needs
  • Passionate about inclusive education and empowering every child
  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable
  • An excellent communicator, able to build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Demonstrable experience dealing with complex needs
