Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and implement commodity strategies, including sourcing and supplier selection Domestically
  • Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models
  • Responsible for negotiations for best possible cost service guarantees and develop “win-win” strategies that achieve sustainable relationships with suppliers
  • Implement supplier agreements/contracts when beneficial by working with cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers to reach agreement on contract terms and conditions
  • Research and anticipate shifts in the negotiating power of suppliers
  • Periodic Supplier Evaluation and Validation as per Verallia guidelines
  • Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify supply base issues to minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, and utilize emerging opportunities
  • Maintain and develop supplier relationships to meet company goals
  • Liaise with suppliers on delivery schedule to ensure on-time deliveries of finished product
  • Perform regular performance review with suppliers to drive continuous improvements
  • Deriving safety culture at supplier’s place and ensuring the EHS guidelines are followed at supplier’s site
  • Supplier visits on regular basis as per the plan
  • Process Monitoring of the ongoing production at supplier end
  • Validation of the ongoing processes to improve the productivity
  • First piece inspection and in process quality inspection of ongoing parts
  • Final Inspection of finished parts
  • Weekly Reporting to internal teams
  • As per requirement- new development parts discussion, quality issues discussion, technical issues discuss, etc
  • Achieving monthly targets as shared by the Sales Team
  • Supplier Audit & Evaluation as per the plan
  • Co-ordination for transportation related activities with internal team and transport services

Requirements:

  • Diploma or bachelor’s in mechanical engineering
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in the field of industrial sourcing in the mechanical field
  • Must have excellent people, presentation, and communication skills
  • Deep Knowledge of Manufacturing / Machining Processes by using CNC, VMC, HMC and conventional machines
  • Deep Knowledge of Cutting tools, holding fixtures for CNC, VMC, HMC and Conventional Machines
  • Good hands on the precision measuring instruments and knowledge of different Inspection Methods
  • Knowledge of machine Tool Industry, surface treatment and nonferrous material compositions
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and establish clear goals and accountabilities to ensure successful implementation of commodity strategies
  • Advanced systems skills and working knowledge of ERP systems, MS Office, with advanced Excel, PowerPoint knowledge
