The Software Engineering Professional supports the execution of the software engineering strategy and roadmap that supports BT's commercial strategy through cross functional project and technical delivery and the participation of a team that pursues innovation as well as engineering excellence. Job Responsibility:

Supports the design and development of software solutions in accordance with the wider architecture and security standards
Supports in the execution of technical decisions, technology choices and architecture for a wide range of high-performance products, capabilities, and platforms, effectively balancing short-term impact with long-term transformation
Maintains systems by monitoring and correcting software defects
Supports the implementation and maintenance of high-quality tools and automation processes to support continuous delivery and developer productivity
Writes, tests and reviews code, refining and rewriting as necessary under supervision and communicates to engineering professionals and colleagues involved in the project

Experience in Automation
Attention to detail
Experience with various phases of the software test lifecycle (FAT, SAT, UAT, Integration)
Knowledge of different test techniques (black box, white box, soak, performance)
TDD/BDD
Dev-Ops
Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD)
Evidence of testing on multiple platforms such as Linux and Windows and within different languages – Python, Ansible, Mongo, XML, VB, Java, C#, .Net, HTML, AngularJS, JSON, C++, SQL/MySQL/NoSQL, Mongo, Git, Docker, Kubernetes
API, Stub and Harness Testing
Eligibility to obtain DV Security Clearance before starting this role
Lived in the UK for 10+ years to be eligible
