Wells Fargo is seeking a Software Engineering Manager
Job Responsibility:
Manage, coach, and develop a team of individual contributor engineer roles with low to moderate complexity and less experienced managers who are responsible for building high quality capabilities with modern technology
Ensure adherence to the Banking Platform Architecture, and meeting non-functional requirements with each release
Engage with architects and experienced engineers to incorporate Wells Fargo Technology technical strategies, while understanding next generation domain architecture to enable application migration paths to target architecture
for example, cloud readiness, application modernization and data strategy
Function as the technical representative for the product during cross-team collaborative efforts and planning
Identify and recommend opportunities for driving resolution of technology roadblocks including code, build and deployment while also managing overall software development cycle and security standards
Act as an escalation partner for scrum masters and the teams to make decisions and help remove impediments, obstacles, and friction while encouraging constant learning, experimentation, and continual improvement culture
Build engineering skills side-by-side in the codebase, conduct peer reviews to evaluate quality and solution alignment to technical direction, and guide design, as needed
Interpret, develop, and ensure security, stability, and scalability within functions of technology with low to moderate complexity, as well as identify, manage and mitigate technology and enterprise risk
Collaborate and consult with the Product Managers/Product Owners to drive user satisfaction, influence technology requirements and priorities in the product roadmap, promote innovative and intelligent solutions, generate corporate value and articulate technical strategy while being a solid advocate of agile and DevOps practices
Interact directly with third party vendors and technology service providers
Manage allocation of people and financial resources for technology engineering including career development and performance management for engineers and managers on the team
Hire, mentor and guide talent development of direct reports to build the skills required to effectively design and deliver innovative solutions for the supported product areas/products
Requirements:
4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
2+ years of Leadership experience
Must have 4+ Years of experience and proven record of managing 15+ technology team Members
4+ years of leadership or management experience, in an IT environment
4+ years of application development experience in developing application using Java Technologies including Java, Springboot, Angular, Javascript, Jquery, Web API, SSIS/ SSRS, SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDBetc.
4 + Years of Knowledge in Data Management principles and exposure to GRC platform would be an added advantage
Should have strong background in Agile (Scrum, SAFE, Kanban) practices and should be able to guide team members with Agile processes
Working knowledge on DevOps framework and CI/CD techniques and tools
Knowledge in Testing frameworks (TDD, BDD etc) and Testing Automation tools & processes
Experience in any Cloud framework (Azure, PCF, OCP etc.) is desired
Hands on experience in GenAI tools and Agentic AI concepts
Should have worked with Independent Testing and Validation areas.
Ability to deal with a given problem scenario in multiple aspects (Technology, Talent, Process or Partner)
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively across organizational lines and with virtual team members
Engineering mindset, and self-driven to take up additional responsibilities and accountability
Ability to approach problem holistically and come up with innovative solutions to address the root cause of the issue, rather than the outcomes of the same

Manage multiple teams engaged in development/ maintenance and support of Regulatory related applications
Accountable for the overall development life cycle of the solution and manage multi-release multi-complexity projects from Well Fargo India locations
Responsible for driving best practices for software development and documentation, assures designs meet requirements, and deliver high-quality work managing the schedules.
Responsible to engage with the Application Architects and other CoE Partners (included but not limited to DBA, Cloud, Architecture and Application Support teams for the safety and soundness of the assigned applications)
Work on generating ideas for Continuous Process Improvements, and delivering Proof of Concepts
Provide direction for agile transformations, build and manage agile teams and establish CI/CD pipeline
Provide direction and technical expertise in design, development phases, lead & participate in architecture discussions, code review etc., and review the completed work effectively
Provide effort estimates, identify resource needs, and enforces project and delivery standards
Review status of system applications and prepare recommendations for improvements/ modernization
Motivate team members and promote a strong sense of code quality, extensibility, and reusability
Focus on enhancing team’s technical/ domain skillsets
Work in a matrix environment and build good working relationships with multiple stakeholders
Pro-actively identify talent needs, and plan for/ manage attrition
Build a culture of continuous improvement within team and put together metrics to measure the impact of their efforts
