We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager who will manage the company’s business needs and continue developing our products and services that exceed customers’ expectations while simultaneously, working within an agile environment, running two-week Sprints, and working alongside our talented team. dynaConnections seeks to hire a top Software Engineering Manager with a deep technical background and problem-solving skills. Both should complement your desire to manage the development team and products to enhance the user’s experience. You will be the technological leader the team turns to for aligning company priorities and processes. You will also delegate daily tasks and large assignments to multiple team members, then manage to completion, ensuring that the right results are achieved. As the Software Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of highly skilled software developers on complex projects drawn from conceptual design and research through successful product launch and post-launch support. Within the product development environment, you will lead the planning, prototyping, development, deployment, and documentation of such events. This position requires coordination and collaboration of product and project managers’ activities within a matrixed and Agile product development environment. The Software Engineering Manager will be responsible for providing consistent project planning, development plans, risk analysis, and design rigor throughout all projects. Accountabilities include establishing, developing, and maintaining the software development team’s technical competencies by providing mentoring, training, evaluation, recruitment, and alignment with the company’s objectives and goals.
Job Responsibility:
Collaborate with key stakeholders to deliver a high-quality product ensuring that software development remains under control and on track
Complete understanding of the company’s products and services and how customers and end-users utilize our products, from end to end
Align projects with company goals and objectives
Capacity to execute effectively with limited information and on occasion with ambiguity
Lead and manage the development team and allocate individual team members across multiple projects
Define functional headcount requirements and understand resource availability
Demonstrate the ability to make significant hiring decisions, and retain and develop the best developers, as shown by developers’ performance
Ensure the team meets deadlines and launch dates through effective sprint processes and daily standups
Foster creativity and innovation in solutions while maintaining a sense of urgency
Overcome technical and communication challenges through good ideas and influence
Function well in a team environment and ensure cross-discipline participation and feedback
Set ongoing, quarterly, and annual goals and objectives for team members. In contrast, conduct quarterly and annual appraisal reviews for team members, actively assessing the hiring needs and gaps
Act as a technical expert within the software engineering function, advising, and coaching subordinates to resolve technical or operational problems throughout the projects and product lifecycle
Review and ensure the quality of all technical deliverables in the functional area of company products
Oversee outsourcing and resource sharing arrangements to meet business needs
In-depth knowledge and understanding of the business needs to establish and maintain high customer trust and confidence level
Possess excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
Occasionally develop components and enhancements to our software, if required
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Computer Science or similar technical field
7+ years of professional experience leading a team of software developers in an Agile setting
5+ years of experience in production environments where scale, stability, and performance matter, and within full-lifecycle software development
5+ years of Java experience utilizing object-oriented programming principles and design patterns
5+ years of programming experience using Java, JavaScript, React, or other similar languages
3+ years of experience with Spring Framework or similar Java development frameworks
3+ years of experience with Agile Methodologies
Experience in programming with cloud infrastructure SDKs, Oracle Cloud preferred
Experience in using Jira/Bitbucket/Git systems
Experience in building CI/CD pipelines
Experience with Elasticsearch and/or MongoDB or similar NoSQL technologies
Proven leadership management, working with team members across numerous projects
An established track record in recruiting software development talent
Ability to mobilize and motivate team members, providing direction, setting goals, resolving conflict, and mentoring team members
Strong management and communication skills with experience leading with Agile/Scrum and related software development methodologies
Analytic and critical thinking skills that overcome technical and communication challenges
Solid knowledge and experience in developing large-scale application architecture, design, implementation, and performance tuning
Comfortable working within a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Communicate with clarity and precision, both written and verbally
Ability to utilize the following, in some capacity: Java, Spring Framework, Javascript, ReactJS, AngularJS, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, SQL, and Oracle PL/SQL
Demonstrate a desire to learn and hone skills continually
