We are seeking an experienced Software Project Lead with a robust Information Technology (IT) and Software Development background to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the technical point of contact for the software development efforts within the Command-and-Control Project Management Office. This role is responsible for leading cross-functional software teams, ensuring alignment with mission-critical objectives, and delivering high-quality software solutions that support NASA's command-and-control infrastructure and supports the associated assigned Command-and-Control Project Manager. The candidate should be familiar with and understand the product lifecycle phases from initiation through delivery. Job Responsibility:
Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of the GSE subsystem software development projects, ensuring alignment with all interfaces between local & remote software systems
Coordinate activities across software engineering, systems engineering, testing, and integration teams
Facilitate collaboration between internal stakeholders and external partners
Work closely with Project Managers, operations, and hardware teams to align software efforts with broader project goals
Serve as the primary interface between software teams, project leadership and the Integrated Product Team (IPT)
Provide regular status updates, technical briefings, and documentation to stakeholders
Provide technical direction and guidance to the subsystem software developers
Define and manage their detailed tasks throughout the software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, and deployment
Ensure all GSE software deliverables meet NASA's safety, security, and documentation standards
Identify project risks and issues early, develop mitigation strategies, and escalate as necessary to ensure project continuity
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering or technical equivalent from an accredited institution and four years related experience
Must have a strong understanding of software development principles, CMMI, VersionOne, software change management processes, and other agile software development tools
Must have experience working with requirements (development, definitions, documentation, etc)
Must be able to coordinate work between multiple project disciplines
Must be self-motivated, demonstrate initiative, and be able to work independently or with minimal supervision
Requires demonstrated leadership skills as evidence by prior experiences
Excellent communication, presentation and customer interface skills required
Ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment
Proficiency in industry-standard tools, including MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, and MS PowerPoint
Eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance (as required)
Demonstrated proficiency and success in leading and managing transformational projects/initiatives and other continuous improvement activities
Experience and demonstrated success with digital transformation concepts, practices, and practical implementation at scale and complexity in an engineering/industrial environment
Experience and demonstrated success developing executable project plans for both macro- and micro- level process and support system/tool changes

Nice to have:
Experience in hardware/software development and systems engineering in the Aerospace industry is highly desirable
Knowledge of Power BI is a bonus
Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's), and Human Machine Interface (HMI) Panel-View displays is a plus
