Our teams in ZMS own the platform which enables Zalando partners to run onsite advertising campaigns on the Zalando web and mobile apps. Our solutions help fashion brands to reach Zalando customers via authentic content, tell their story, provide inspiration and drive engagement. As a Software Engineer (Full-Stack) in the ZMS Consumer Experience team, you will develop solutions and create experiences for hundreds of partners and internal users and millions of Zalando customers, including customer-facing advertising formats featured on Zalando home and catalog premises, landing page experiences for brand storytelling, as well as partner-facing content and media management workflows.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design, build and evolve scalable full-stack solutions powering customer-facing advertising experiences and partner-facing content workflows used by millions of Zalando customers
  • Own backend-heavy features (around 60%) while confidently contributing to frontend development (around 40%) when strong UI and UX skills are needed
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, Data Analysts and Engineers to turn product ideas and business needs into robust technical solutions
  • Build and improve APIs, data models and persistence layers, ensuring high performance, scalability and reliability
  • Create accessible and performant frontend experiences using React and modern web standards
  • Improve system performance, observability and reliability by applying DevOps best practices and contributing to CI/CD and cloud-native infrastructure
  • Break down complex problems into iterative, value-driven solutions while maintaining a high bar for code quality and simplicity
  • Share knowledge, mentor other engineers and contribute to technical discussions that shape the future of the ZMS Consumer Experience platform

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience building full-stack web applications, ideally using Node.js and TypeScript
  • Comfortable working across the stack, including React, core web fundamentals (HTML, CSS, browser concepts), and backend systems
  • Strong experience with relational data modeling, SQL, and data persistence using RDBMS
  • Design, evaluate, and optimize scalable, reliable systems with a focus on performance, throughput, and latency
  • Apply modern DevOps best practices, including CI/CD, observability, Docker, Kubernetes, and common AWS services
  • Communicate clearly about complex technical and architectural topics with diverse stakeholders
  • Can break down large problems into smaller, iterative solutions that deliver customer value
  • Enjoy mentoring junior and intermediate engineers and helping remove blockers
