Job Description:

As a Staff Software Engineer at CVS Health, you'll play a crucial role in building and delivering high-quality software that enhances customer experience. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will lead multiple Agile teams, manage project executions, and participate in architecture discussions for efficient and scalable solutions. You will ensure delivery milestones are met, provide technical expertise, and foster innovation within the engineering team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Leading multiple Agile teams to estimate, design, code, and implement solutions and systems
  • managing resource availability, team capacity, and allocations
  • guiding requirements, design, coding, system testing and debugging
  • collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • contributing to solution design and architecture discussions
  • participating in code reviews
  • contributing to the adoption of best practices, new technologies, and tools to enhance productivity
  • sharing knowledge through code reviews, tech talks, and workshops
  • implementing complex features and enhancing functionality
  • coordinating release planning
  • resolving project issues and removing barriers hindering execution
  • identifying additional cost savings to reduce expenses
  • ensuring delivery milestones are met and objectives align with business segment drivers
  • leveraging project interdependencies
  • working with Product Managers, Project Managers, Scrum Masters, Compliance, and other teams

Requirements:

  • 7-10+ years of work experience
  • 5+ years of experience with Claim in software development
  • 4+ years of experience working with internal & external/vendor stakeholders, including Product Management, Engineering, and Cross functional teams
  • 3+ years of experience independently managing deliverables
  • 2+ years of experience in effort estimation
  • adept at problem solving and decision-making skills
  • adept at collaboration and teamwork
  • adept at growth mindset skills
  • adept at execution and delivery skills
  • adept at business intelligence

Nice to have:

  • Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) preferred
  • prior experience in dealing with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • effective written and verbal communication skills
  • experience with complex systems and solving challenging analytical problems
  • previous medical/dental healthcare experience
  • claim domain knowledge
  • proficiency in delivering Commercial Claim projects within tight budgets and challenging timelines
