Requirements

Minimum Grade 10 education or equivalent acceptable experience
Must have a minimum of one year experience in operation of a single operator truck over 18,000 GVW with a combination plow with wing and sanding unit
Must hold a valid Ontario class “D” driver’s license with a “Z” endorsement

Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the operation of a snowplow truck

At the end of winter control, reverts to summer construction part-time pool and must have the ability to perform seasonal Utility Tractor Operator duties when required

Job Responsibility

Responsible for the rehabilitation of roadway surfaces and/or traffic control devices such as signs and pavement markings
Responsible for general maintenance of highway-related facilities such as rest areas
this may include performing water and wastewater treatment according to EPA and DEQ requirements
Attends and completes all state and federal training required to obtain/maintain certifications, perform inspections, and learn new skills
Communicates information in order to update others' status and/or process effectiveness
Utilizes computers for agency practices, such as for training and performance evaluations, and keeps up to date on technological advances with specialized equipment
