The Shift Supervisor main focus is to lead the operations of our pellet mill during assigned shifts. This role is responsible for supervising a team, assigning tasks, and ensuring daily production, safety, and quality goals are met. This position is responsible for performing administrative tasks, assigning tasks to employees and oversee progress. This role requires strong leadership with the ability to drive results through effective coaching and development, while also fostering innovation by bringing new ideas to the team.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and supervise all team members during your assigned shift
Assign and monitor tasks to ensure production targets and priorities are met
Coach and develop team members to drive performance and ensure operational success
Foster teamwork and promptly address interpersonal issues, escalating to the Production Manager as necessary
Train new employees and cross-train existing employees transitioning into new roles
Track individual training progress and report daily to the Production Manager
Learn and enforce all safety policies and procedures through LMS training
Train all team members on safety standards
ensure compliance at all times
Mitigate risks by proactively identifying and addressing safety concerns
Ensure all required quality tests and audits are completed during your shift
Track hourly quality check data and submit daily reports to the Production Manager
Promote a culture of quality, ensuring all processes meet established standards
Identify and report maintenance concerns to the on-shift maintenance technician
Assist maintenance as needed to help resolve issues promptly during your shift
Drive throughput and efficiency
work closely with your team to maximize tons/day output
Promote and participate in continuous improvement efforts using Lean Manufacturing tools such as 5S, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and Kaizen

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a related field
Five (5) years related work experience
Prior Supervisory experience in manufacturing
Strong leadership and coaching skills
Ability to build trust with team members
Capacity to work collaboratively with diverse individuals
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong active listening skills
Strong empathy (“caring”) and interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Data tracking and reporting experience using basic digital tools (Excel, LMS systems, etc.)
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to work in temperatures below 32 degrees and above 100 degrees
Ability to climb ladders and stairs
Ability to work from heights
Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance
