Job Responsibility:
Monitor and manage critical facility systems such as power (including generators), cooling (HVAC), and fire suppression
Ensure uptime and availability of all facility-related services
Conduct “eyes on glass” for the facility equipment alarms
Perform alarm analysis and propose suggestion to reduce the alarms to the engineering team
This includes monitoring network performance, analyzing logs, and responding to alerts and incidents
Handle and manage network incidents, including recording incidents, escalating as needed, and ensuring timely resolution
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as engineering team, system administrators, and vendors, to resolve complex issues
Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation for BMS systems, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures
Document network changes, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions for future reference
Participate in change management processes, ensuring that changes are properly planned, tested, and implemented with minimal disruption to data centre services
Collaborate with other IT teams, including network engineers, system administrators, and help desk personnel, to address network-related issues
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing timely updates on network incidents and resolutions
Stay up-to-date with emerging network technologies, industry best practices, and advancements in network monitoring tools
Continuously enhance technical skills through self-learning, training, and certifications
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including network diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and incident reports
Ensure smooth transitions between shifts by providing thorough updates and documentation to the next shift or manager
Requirements:
A diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline is often required
Relevant experience in a NOC or data centre environment is beneficial, with a minimum of 3 years being common for some roles
Experience with network monitoring tools and technologies eg. ITIL
Familiarity with network hardware, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers
Understanding of network security principles and practices
Proficiency in troubleshooting network issues and conducting root cause analysis
24/7 operational environment, including on-call rotations
