Job Description:

The Sewing Technician at Astound is responsible for assembling, sewing, and finishing SEG (Silicone Edge Graphics) and other fabric-based display elements to precise specifications. This role involves working closely with the graphics and staging teams to ensure accurate fit, tension, and finish of all soft goods. The Sewing Technician must maintain a high level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and technical knowledge of industrial sewing equipment to deliver consistent, high-quality results.

Job Responsibility:

  • Operate industrial sewing machines to assemble and finish SEG graphics, fabric panels, and related display materials
  • Ensure accurate measurement, alignment, and stitching to achieve a precise fit and professional finish
  • Collaborate with the staging and graphics production teams to review fit and quality of SEG graphics on frames and structures
  • Perform regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on printing, cutting, and sewing equipment to ensure smooth operation and longevity
  • Perform minor maintenance and adjustments on sewing machines to maintain optimal performance
  • Inspect sewn products for quality, consistency, and adherence to specifications before staging or shipping
  • Assist with fabric cutting, edge preparation, and other pre-sewing processes as needed
  • Maintain organization of materials, tools, and workspace to support efficient production flow
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying process or quality enhancements

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in industrial sewing, preferably in SEG or fabric display production
  • Strong technical skills with familiarity in sewing machine operation and maintenance
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision in measurements and stitching
  • Ability to read and interpret production drawings and specifications
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Experience with various types of fabrics and threads used in large-format graphic production
  • Knowledge of finishing techniques such as hemming, edge taping, and reinforcement for SEG graphics
  • Familiarity with graphics production workflows and staging environments
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Comfortable working with industrial sewing equipment and production tools
