The incumbent will support the work of the Section of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), particularly the Greening Education Partnership (GEP), a global platform for coordinating quality climate change education. The role involves supporting partnership coordination, training programmes, event organization, and preparation for the ESD World Conference.
Job Responsibility:
Support the coordination of the membership of the Greening Education Partnership, in particular working group 4 on greening communities
Support the development and delivery of the training of trainers programme
Support the organization of and provide technical backstopping to meetings and webinars on climate change education
Support the ESD Section with the preparation of the ESD World Conference taking place at the end of 2026
Any other tasks as assigned by the team leader to support the work of the ESD programme of work
Requirements:
Advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in education, sustainable development, social sciences or related fields
Minimum one year of relevant working experience in the fields of education for sustainable development, climate change education or similar
Experience of working with a variety of stakeholders, building networks and coordinating partnerships, preferably at global level
Demonstrated analytical and drafting skills
Capacity to work independently and under tight deadlines
Ability to maintain effective relationships in a multi-cultural work setting
Flexibility and adaptability to work effectively in a changing environment with competing priorities
Excellent knowledge of written and oral English and working knowledge of French
Nice to have:
Knowledge of other UN languages would be an advantage
