Job Description:

Senior Valuation Associate - Alternative Investments. A leading global investment firm with over $50B in assets under management is seeking a Senior Valuation Associate. This role offers exposure to complex valuation work across private credit and equity investments, supporting a dynamic portfolio spanning multiple industries.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform quarterly valuation analyses on companies and securities using internal valuation models
  • Monitor portfolio company performance, including financial spreading and analytics
  • Communicate trends and performance drivers to senior management and report on credit metrics
  • Liaise with deal teams, finance/operations teams, and external valuation consultants
  • Synthesize data to support, challenge, and reconcile conclusions, including back-testing and stress-testing
  • Recommend enhancements to valuation processes and methodologies in line with best practices
  • Manage external valuation audit processes, including internal controls

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flows)
  • Familiarity with capital markets, corporate securities, and capital structures
  • Experience with financial modeling
  • Strong financial statement analysis skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities under tight deadlines with superior organizational skills
  • Ability to interpret complex legal documents
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • 2+ years of accounting/finance experience with exposure to valuation techniques (DCF, market comparables)
  • Background in private credit, valuation consulting, or Big 4 accounting firm
  • Preference for prior credit/direct lending experience
