Role uses Unreal Engine 5 as an engineering and simulation platform, not as a game engine. The work centers on creating physics-accurate virtual environments where vehicles behave as they do in the real world. These simulations support defense, automotive, motorsports, and advanced mobility programs, enabling digital testing and validation before physical prototypes exist.
Job Responsibility:
Build High-Fidelity Simulation Environments
Develop and extend real-time simulation applications using Unreal Engine 5
Create and modify large-scale environments including terrain, road networks, and test scenarios
Optimize lighting, scale, and performance to support realistic simulation outcomes
Implement Realistic Vehicle Dynamics
Design and tune vehicle behavior models including: Suspension and chassis dynamics
Acceleration, braking, traction, and handling
Weight transfer and environmental interaction
Validate simulation behavior against real-world vehicle data
Focus on engineering-grade realism, not arcade-style mechanics
C++-Driven Unreal Development
Write and maintain Unreal Engine C++ code in a shared, production codebase
Troubleshoot and optimize performance-critical systems
Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions
Systems & Platform Integration
Collaborate with teams working on: Embedded systems and sensors
IoT and telemetry platforms
Cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
User-facing engineering and analytics applications
Ensure Unreal-based simulations integrate cleanly into broader system architectures
Ownership & Technical Leadership
Own features and systems from concept through deployment
Contribute to requirements discussions, design reviews, and cross-team planning
Mentor and collaborate with engineers across multiple disciplines
Requirements:
Professional experience developing with Unreal Engine (UE5 preferred)
Strong C++ development background (Blueprint-only experience is not sufficient)
Experience building or supporting real-time simulations or realistic systems
Understanding of: Physics-based systems
Vehicle dynamics or mechanical behavior
Performance optimization in real-time environments
Ability to work in collaborative, multi-team engineering environments
U.S. Person status (ITAR/EAR)
Nice to have:
Vehicle simulation, automotive engineering, robotics, or defense-related systems
Experience profiling and optimizing Unreal Engine applications
Familiarity with real-time rendering performance considerations
Exposure to cloud platforms or distributed systems
Background working in regulated or safety-critical environments
