Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Technology Architect with 10+ years of experience to lead and manage the technical architecture for a large, distributed, cross-platform environment. This role requires expertise in both Business Architecture and Solution/Technical Architecture, specifically focusing on enterprise-scale COTS/SaaS solutions (Oracle Siebel preferred). The successful candidate will lead all aspects of solution design, including security and privacy, and navigate complex corporate governance processes (Project Gating, Architecture Governance Points) using frameworks like Zachman. This is a fully Onsite position based in Toronto. ... Duration: 4 months (with potential for contract extension)

Job Responsibility:

  • Architecture Development & Modeling: Leading the development and maintenance of all required business and application architecture artefacts (models, documents, diagrams) according to industry best practices, GO-ITS standards, and OPS EA guidelines
  • Business Analysis & Design: Leading and facilitating workshops to gather business and application information. Demonstrated experience capturing business requirements, conducting business process re-engineering, business design and optimization, and aligning solutions to business goals. Hands-on experience developing business processes using BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation)
  • Solution Design & COTS Integration: Leading all aspects of solution design, including security and privacy. Modeling solution requirements, design, and components for enterprise scale COTS/SaaS solutions (Oracle Siebel preferred)
  • Governance & Compliance: Leading project teams through all levels of governance, including preparing and delivering presentations to successfully obtain approvals at corporate architecture governance points (AGP). Adhering to all OPS GO-ITS Standards (specifically 56.0, 56.1, 56.3)
  • Risk & Security: Leading Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) and Threat Risk Assessment (TRA) activities, and actioning any risk recommendations or mitigations. Defining the structure and relationship among technical solutions, and identifying re-usable components
  • Leadership & Strategy: Providing leadership, guidance, and support to the project team. Evaluating different technology options and making informed decisions based on cost, compatibility, and industry best practices
  • Collaboration & Facilitation: Collaborating with client staff and partners to ensure architecture alignment. Arranging and facilitating Enterprise Architecture (EA) meetings

Requirements:

  • Hands on demonstrated experience developing all required business architecture artefacts
  • Demonstrated experience leading and facilitating workshops to gather business and application information, including validation and review sessions
  • Hands on demonstrated experience developing all required application architecture artefacts
  • Hands on demonstrated experience leading all aspects of solution design, including security and privacy
  • 10+ years of experience leading multi-tier application infrastructure design, documentation and configuration for medium or large corporate implementations
  • Experience architecting enterprise scale COTS / SaaS solutions (Oracle Siebel preferred)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in leading and delivering Business Architecture and technical/solution Architecture projects
  • Hands on demonstrated experience successfully leading project teams through all levels of governance processes ( corporate) such a project gating, architecture governance points
  • Knowledge of Zachman Framework including business / information / application / technology / security architectures

Nice to have:

  • Experience with BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation)
  • Experience with agile methodologies
  • Knowledge and experience with a wide range of methods for business architecture (service lifecycle modeling, value chain analysis, etc.)
  • Experience leading project teams through the PIA and TRA processes
