Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is the team behind one of the World’s largest Cloud Infrastructures, responsible for powering all Microsoft online Products and Services as well as powering Microsoft’s “Cloud First” mission. Our focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, and delivering a trusted experience to customers and partners worldwide, and we are looking for passionate Senior Technical Program Manager, Datacenter Portfolio Management to help achieve our mission. In this role, the successful candidate will partner closely with key engineering leaders to drive programs focused on transforming how we deliver data centers to our customers. These programs will be on the leading edge of innovation and will include driving pilots and other first of kind programs that shape ongoing strategy in delivering data centers efficiently and on schedule. You balance effective analytical and technical skills with the ability to influence decision makers within the CO+I leadership and execution teams spread across the rest of Azure. You will also partner closely with related teams including our design engineering, construction, networking and data center project management teams.
Job Responsibility:
Manage cross functional initiatives, focusing on cross-organizational efficiencies and decision making that enable scale through streamlined rhythm of business, tools and processes
Leverage technical acumen in mechanical/electrical systems, structures, and networking infrastructure to facilitate engineering problem solving
Differentiate Microsoft data center delivery to create a competitive advantage by applying ‘Best in Class’ project and program management expertise
Drive business results through a regimented focus on key performance indicators and business goals, promoting clarity and motivation to the project team to execute on time, under budget, while delivering high quality results with zero rework
Use experience and expertise to improve and/or deploy templates, automation, and processes
Design and drive implementation of reporting by interfacing with business, engineering, finance, operations, and systems teams to provide actionable insights
Deliver on ambiguous projects with multiple stakeholders, unclear requirements, and incomplete data

Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, Data Analytics/Science AND 4+ years experience in planning, project management, execution, and stakeholder alignment across large-scale complex organizations
OR equivalent experience
2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects
Nice to have:
Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience
6+ years Demonstrated experience delivering physical infrastructure across all phases of the project lifecycle, including design, contracting, construction, and commissioning
4+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects
Demonstrates deep understanding on key functional areas of engineering, procurement, construction, mechanical, electrical, networking, and building automation systems
Comfortable working at the Executive level within a highly matrixed organization
Experience driving execution with hyper-scale cloud engineering groups
Understanding of business and financial objectives and plans accordingly
Experience managing large scale construction or network infrastructure projects
