Job Responsibility

Selection of methods and procedures, performance of the work, and optimization of the design within the scope of the specifications, in compliance with international codes, company and industry standards and regulations
Proactively planning and completing activities and deliverables within agreed time frame and budget, as well as for ensuring system interfaces
Ensuring that Scope of Work is delivered in accordance with both the contractual requirements and SBM’s internal requirements
Ensuring applicable lessons learnt are used, understanding the change impact within and across project system boundaries
Coordinating with vendors, subcontractors and third parties, in accordance with contractual requirements and SBM’s internal requirements
May be assigned as a Package Engineer with technical responsibility for the design, procurement and manufacture of the Package
Start leading engineers on assigned scope of work
May act as Discipline Lead for an assigned scope of work

Experience of 5 to 10 years in the Oil & Gas industry
Expertise in topsides design within the Oil & Gas industry
Strong understanding of international codes, company standards, and industry regulations
Experience with design software tools for accurate depiction of designs
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Strong organizational skills to manage deliverables within project timelines
Ability to resolve design conflicts proactively

Choose appropriate methods and procedures for design execution
Utilize software tools to depict designs clearly for interpretation by others
Work closely with Engineers, Designers, and Lead Designer to ensure design intent is understood

Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics & Communications Engineering or related discipline
Minimum 15 years’ experience in the Oil & Gas industry
At least 10 years in telecom commissioning for onshore/offshore facilities
Strong FEED and EPIC experience with proven capability to review, comment, and approve contractor deliverables
In-depth technical expertise in offshore telecom systems (CCTV, radio, PA/GA, IP telephony, network infrastructure, NMS, structured cabling, AIS, ACS)
Demonstrated ability to coordinate and lead complex commissioning activities under pressure

Ensure all commissioning requirements (testing, tools, spares, documentation, procedures) are correctly implemented early in the project lifecycle
Lead and execute commissioning activities for a wide range of offshore telecom systems
Ensure safe and compliant pre?commissioning/commissioning of 132?kV subsea and onshore power cable systems
Plan, organize, and execute pre?commissioning and commissioning activities in accordance with project schedules
Lead multicultural teams (contractors, vendors, technicians, offshore personnel) during field execution
Ensure technical issues are resolved promptly to avoid schedule delays, providing on?site troubleshooting and engineering support
