OneDrive and SharePoint (ODSP) are the set of intelligent, high value services and compliant environments that enable the next generation of transformative end-user experiences for Microsoft 365 and the entire company. The ODSP team has an opportunity for you to get in on designing and building a core part of the stack. We are a team full of talented and passionate developers, building online document experience including previewing, editing, co-authoring in OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, Copilot, Office and Outlook. We are looking for a strong developer to join us. You will have the opportunity to help create the next generation of AI powered online document experiences. Our services must deliver high performance, high reliability, and the ability to scale to millions of users and billions of files. This role requires a deep understanding of modern web technologies such as React, WebAssembly, and JavaScript, as well as an innovative mindset to leverage large language models (LLMs) to enhance user experiences with AI.

Job Responsibility:

Design, implement, and roll out features in distributed environments using data-driven and test-driven methodologies, while continuously improving code performance, maintainability, and security
Drive identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform
Partner with stakeholders (e.g., PM, DS, Leadership) to determine user requirements within and across teams
Proactively seek new knowledge and adapt to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale and share knowledge with other engineers
Leverage subject-matter expertise of product features and partner with appropriate stakeholders to drive the workgroup's project plans, release plans, and work items
Act as an expert and DRI (Designated Responsible Individual), be on call to mitigate system/product/service degradation to avoid downtime or interruptions

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
Expert-level proficiency in at least one of the following languages: JavaScript, Typescript, C++, with the ability to architect solutions across a polyglot environment
System Architecture: Proven ability to design systems that are scalable, reliable, and maintainable, capable of handling ambiguity and trade-off decisions
Effective communication/collaboration skills, ability to deal with ambiguity and prioritize issues in-depth knowledge of cloud development
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

Nice to have:

Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
Experience in machine learning, prompt engineering, AI evaluation and LLM-based agents development
Hands-on experience in LLM/MLLM or text/multimedia content generation model training, or agent algorithm development is preferred
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and effectively
Solid analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to problem-solving, consistently upholding high standards of quality and engineering rigor
Collaborative and team-oriented, skilled at working across disciplines, levels, and product areas to drive alignment and shared success
Proven track record of independently owning and delivering technically challenging projects with measurable impact
Fast learner with a demonstrated ability to quickly master new technologies, tools, and domains
Comfortable at operating in a dynamic environment
