Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
Minimum of 10 years of payroll experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role
Proven expertise in multi-jurisdictional payroll in Canada and the USA
Advanced proficiency in payroll & HCM systems (UKG a requirement)
Retail industry experience highly desirable

Job Responsibility

Lead a high-performing team of payroll & benefits specialists
Own the payroll and benefits processing from start to finish for 1,200 employees across Canada and the USA
Partner with cross-functional teams, including HR, Finance, and Legal
Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, including enrollments, terminations, billing reconciliation, and compliance
Drive continuous improvement, leveraging technology and process enhancements to optimize payroll operations
Streamline the time and attendance processes and optimizing workflows
Navigate the complex landscape of payroll and benefits regarding federal, state, provincial, and local regulations
Achieve and maintain a payroll accuracy rate of 99.9% or higher
Resolve complex and escalated employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits
Support the accounting and FP&A teams in clarifying any payroll related variances
