Senior QA/QC Mechanical Engineer position for a CCGT Power Plant project in Turek, Poland. The role involves maintaining safety standards, quality inspection, equipment verification, coordination with authorities, and ensuring compliance with construction standards and regulations.
Job Responsibility:
Maintain standards of safety and comply with Project's Health, Safety and Environment Management System requirements
Report to Site Quality manager, liaise with construction team for quality issues
Issue relevant Request for Inspection (RFI) to the Client and maintain a relevant register file for the progress of inspections
Verifie that inspections are performed to the extent defined within the ITPs, by the appropriate staff, with the calibrated equipment, as required
Check all required inspection points and report as specified within the ITPs and monitor records within Schedules
Issue the relevant Quality Records and, when necessary, informs the Quality Control Supervisor for non-conformities
Inspect materials/ equipment during receipt, verify compliance with the requirements
Monitor preservation of equipment during storage/handling and after installation
Control equipment installation, alignment and leveling
Inspect welding activities (before/during and after welding)
Verify NDT inspections
Verify installation according to P&ID and erection drawings
Prepare hydrotest packs prior hydrotesting
Perform functional checks and mechanical completion checks (including hydrostatic tests)
Verify installation of rotating equipment (pumps etc.) acc. to the requirements
Verify erection and welding activities of tanks/vessels according to the requirements
Update / control as built drawings
Coordinate/manage registration activities of plant equipment to the local authorities (UDT)
Issue the pressure/lifting equipment UDT description forms
Compile/collect submission documentation of pressure/lifting equipment required for UDT registration
Liaise with UDT authorities for expediting the registration process
Perform / participate to the final walk downs with the Local authorities, Customer, Subcontractor(s), Construction Engineers etc. and verify the recording of observations (punch items) that may have occurred after the walk down of the inspectors in the relevant list
Monitor the progress of closing the punch items by the responsible personnel
Requirements:
Previous experience of 3+ years on mechanical QA/QC activities in Power Plants or Oil & Gas industry
University Degree education level, mechanical engineering or relevant discipline
Working knowledge of construction standards, codes of practice, regulations / legislation (PED) in general and in particular of ASME BPVC codes and BS-EN welding/NDT/piping standards
Experienced with rotating equipment inspections
Hazardous Area installation and equipment ATEX inspection experience
Knowledge of safety regulations
Well Experienced in registration of lifting and pressure equipment at Polish authorities (UDT/TDT)
Familiar with MS Office Package (excel, outlook etc)
Excellent command / highly proficient in spoken and written English
Excellent command / highly proficient in spoken and written Polish
