Senior Principal Designer

• Fulfil Principal Designer duties in accordance with CDM 2015 regulations
• Provide expert guidance on design risk management and health and safety compliance
• Work closely with clients, design teams, and contractors to ensure projects meet the highest safety standards
• Prepare and review pre-construction information, risk assessments, and construction phase plans
• Conduct site visits, audits, and inspections to monitor compliance and identify risk mitigation strategies
• Support and mentor junior team members, helping to develop and expand the consultancy’s CDM services
• Maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development opportunities

• 5+ years’ experience in a Principal Designer or CDM Consultant role
• NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent qualification
• Membership with APS (IMaPS or CMaPS) or a willingness to achieve accreditation
• Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations, health and safety standards, and building regulations
• Background in architecture, construction, engineering, or a related field is advantageous
• Proficiency in preparing CDM documentation and risk assessments
• Excellent client-facing skills, with the ability to communicate complex safety concepts effectively
• Highly organised, able to manage multiple projects across different sectors
