Job Description:

The Wyoming Department of Transportation is seeking a Senior Plumber to independently install, maintain, and repair complex plumbing systems, including potable water, sanitary and storm sewers, sewage lift stations, roof drains, hydronic piping systems, air and flammable gas systems, fire sprinkler systems, and irrigation systems. This position is responsible for the safe treatment and testing of potable water systems that are used by the general public, and compliance with all international, state, and local codes.

Job Responsibility:

  • Independently install, maintain, and repair complex plumbing systems, including potable water, sanitary and storm sewers, sewage lift stations, roof drains, hydronic piping systems, air and flammable gas systems, fire sprinkler systems, and irrigation systems
  • Responsible for the safe treatment and testing of potable water systems that are used by the general public, and compliance with all international, state, and local codes
  • Performs complex duties in the repair, maintenance, and installation of plumbing systems and backflow prevention devices in state buildings
  • Recommends energy-saving changes
  • Installs, maintains, and repairs fire sprinkler systems and helps repair irrigation systems
  • Works with engineers on new system design, troubleshooting, testing, and startup of new systems
  • Works carefully to follow all current regulations for plumbing work to ensure that all installed systems pass inspections

Requirements:

  • Journeyman Plumbing License
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to kneel, crawl in confined spaces, and stand on ladders for extended periods
  • Must be able to physically operate tools and equipment such as sewer machines, jackhammers, shovels, and torches
  • 0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Plumbing) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Plumber
  • OR 3-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Plumbing) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Plumber

Nice to have:

  • Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester (BPAT) license
  • Level 1 Water License
