Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior PHP Developer with deep expertise in backend development and a strong interest in expanding their skills in Python (FastAPI). This role is ideal for developers comfortable maintaining legacy PHP systems while transitioning into modern, scalable architectures using Python.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance web applications primarily built in PHP
  • Collaborate on the Ongoing migration of PHP-based systems to Python (FastAPI)
  • Understand and support stakeholder requirements to ensure project alignment and successful delivery
  • Build, test, and deploy RESTful APIs and backend services
  • Optimize code for performance, scalability, and maintainability
  • Work closely with frontend teams to ensure seamless integration
  • Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and architecture discussions
  • Maintain documentation and follow clean coding practices
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues across PHP and Python environments

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of hands-on backend development experience
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining large-scale web applications
  • 5+ years of strong experience in PHP development (Laravel or custom frameworks)
  • Solid understanding of OOP principles and MVC frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with MySQL / PostgreSQL databases
  • Working knowledge of Python (preferably FastAPI or Flask)
  • Familiarity with REST API design and backend integrations
  • Proficiency with Git, Docker, and deployment workflows
  • Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to learn and adopt new technologies, especially Python-based development

Nice to have:

  • Experience in system migration from PHP to Python
  • Knowledge of asynchronous programming, background tasks, or event-driven architecture
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Understanding of frontend technologies (React, Vue, etc.) for full-stack collaboration
