Job Description:

Looking for a Mid-Senior .NET Developer with skills in Aveva (formerly Wonderware), software development kit (SDK), and C#. Will be tasked with coming on as a Contract-type developer to help our client phase out, maintain, and support an outgoing software platform while FTE staff architects a new platform for company use. This position does have the opportunity to convert over permanently given the fit and skillset to support the new software.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services and APIs using C# and .NET Core / .NET 6+
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following SOLID principles and best practices
  • Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database schemas (SQL Server)
  • Integrate and extend functionality using the AVEVA (formerly Wonderware) Software Development Kit (SDK), InTouch, System Platform, Historian, or OMI
  • Work with industrial protocols (OPC UA, OPC DA, SuiteLink, etc.) when interfacing with AVEVA products
  • Collaborate with SCADA engineers, automation teams, and frontend developers to deliver end-to-end solutions
  • Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and agile ceremonies
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Help client phase out, maintain, and support an outgoing software platform while FTE staff architects a new platform for company use

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience with C# and the .NET ecosystem
  • Strong proficiency in .NET Core / .NET 5+ (ASP.NET Core Web API, Entity Framework Core, etc.)
  • Advanced SQL Server skills (T-SQL, performance tuning, indexing strategies)
  • Hands-on experience with AVEVA (Wonderware) SDKs – especially ArchestrA, InTouch, Application Server, Historian Client, or OMI SDK
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and clean architecture
  • Experience with version control (Git) and modern development workflows
  • Familiarity with RESTful API design and microservices architecture
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
  • MUST be U.S. based

Nice to have:

  • Experience in industrial automation, SCADA, HMI, or manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of AVEVA System Platform, AVEVA Edge, or AVEVA Plant SCADA
  • Front-end skills (Blazor, Angular, React, or JavaScript/TypeScript)
  • Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Cloud platforms (Azure or AWS)
  • Unit/integration testing frameworks (xUnit, NUnit, Moq, etc.)
  • Message queuing (RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, Kafka)
