The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will lead process development and optimization for automotive manufacturing operations. This role focuses on improving efficiency, ensuring compliance with ISO/IATF standards, and supporting new product launches. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement advanced manufacturing techniques and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Responsibility:
Design, develop, and optimize automotive manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain quality standards
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues and scrap reduction efforts
Implement lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies
Collaborate with design engineering to ensure manufacturability of new automotive components
Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures
Support equipment selection, installation, and validation for automotive production lines
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards
Train and mentor junior engineers and production staff
Drive continuous improvement projects focused on scrap reduction, cycle time improvement, and cost savings
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering
Manufacturing, Mechanical or similar degree required
Master’s degree in engineering preferred
5+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing engineering
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with automotive components and assembly processes
Ability to prioritize multiple projects, work under tight deadlines, and handle changing priorities
Results-oriented with strong problem-solving, analytical and leadership skills
Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards
Proficiency in CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools
Willingness to travel up to 20% for supplier visits or plant support
Nice to have:
Papermaking or paper converting experience is a plus
