Job Description:

This is a Software Development Manager role based in Southlake TX/Austin TX, managing the software development lifecycle including the coordination, prioritization and communication across the business product areas. It will include building and realizing the strategy for the teams to support the dynamic needs of the WAME business. The role includes the hands-on development role, building a client driven technology organization. The role entails full Agile and DevOps model in partnership of SAMS business—designs/develops software solutions and business process solutions based on business needs. Lead application components of moderate complexity. Provide technical design input in overall project. Focus on quality based on Schwab’s standards. Mentors and develops team members in honing their analytical thinking skills and problem-solving capabilities. Collaborates with stakeholders to identify and implement data-driven approaches to optimize team performance.

Requirements:

  • A university degree from a well-respected academic institution
  • At least 10-years of professional experience
  • At least 6-years of professional experience developing enterprise applications using Java, J2EE, Springboot, SQL Server, JSON, REST
  • Recent experience working in Agile teams preferably for financial institutions
  • Some experience with cloud/ cloud foundry platform
  • Good communication skills, ability to express ideas clearly and communicate with business users
  • Well-organized and disciplined with high attention to detail, provide clear and timely updates to team
  • Serve as a leader, guiding and empowering teams to achieve exceptional results
  • Actively seeks out and evaluates emerging trends or technologies to identify opportunities for innovation
  • Work well in small self-managed Agile teams
  • Raises the bar for quality, driving both oneself and others to deliver exceptional products and services

Nice to have:

  • Advanced degrees in Information management, Computer Science, Business Administration and/or other professional certifications are a plus
  • GCP/AWS will be a plus
  • Experience in building services-based software for portfolio optimization using industrial optimization products like Axioma, Gurobi, etc.
