As a technical leader within the AI team, you’ll collaborate with backend, data, and GenAI engineers to deliver robust, scalable, and beautiful user-facing solutions. Your work will directly shape how users interact with advanced AI-powered features, supporting Degreed’s mission to transform workforce learning.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead the end-to-end implementation and optimization of user-facing features for GenAI and AI-driven products
  • Collaborate with AI, backend, and data engineers to design seamless, intuitive frontends for complex AI features (e.g., LLM assistants, interactive data visualizations, prompt interfaces)
  • Guide and mentor frontend team members, championing best practices and code quality
  • Implement beautiful layouts and interactive UIs with a focus on usability, accessibility, and performance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring the reliability and scalability of AI-driven user experiences
  • Partner with product managers, UX, and designers to deliver features aligned with business strategy and user needs
  • Continually evaluate and improve engineering processes, including deployment, testing, monitoring, and localization
  • Advocate for continuous learning and technical excellence within the team
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in frontend and AI/GenAI technologies, bringing innovative approaches to the team

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience building frontend applications, with at least 3 years using Angular (v14+ preferred)
  • Proven experience designing and implementing scalable, performant SaaS frontends
  • Must have built and shipped multiple GenAI applications (e.g., LLM-powered assistants, AI chatbots, real-time AI features, or interactive AI data visualizations)
  • Strong technical leadership: mentoring, code reviews, architecture, and setting engineering standards
  • Deep experience with Typescript, ES6, RxJS, and modern frontend best practices
  • Skilled in building reusable components, modular architecture, and high-quality, maintainable UI code
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS (Tailwind preferred), and UI/UX patterns
  • Experience integrating with AI/GenAI-powered APIs and real-time data flows
  • Hands-on with frontend testing (Jest, Cypress, or similar)
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills within cross-functional teams

Nice to have:

  • Experience with accessibility (a11y), ARIA, and screen reader technologies is a plus
  • Familiarity with data visualization (HighCharts, D3.js), monorepo tools (Nx), or React (bonus)
  • Exposure to backend tech (C#, .Net, SQL) is beneficial
