The Company Is seeking a Senior Fire Engineer to join their growing Cheltenham-based team of 8. As an established and forward-thinking fire safety consultancy, they offer fire engineers the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of complex, high-profile projects, including residential high rise, commercial, laboratory work, data centres, and more. Whether you are an experienced fire engineer looking to take on greater responsibility, or a chartered fire engineer ready to lead, this consultancy will provide you with the autonomy, variety, and support to truly thrive, while enjoying being in a company that genuinely values their staff’s wellbeing.

Job Responsibility:

  • Developing robust fire strategies for new builds, refurbishments, and complex developments
  • Fire safety design, thermal modelling, CFD modelling
  • Reviewing architectural and M&E plans to assess fire compliance and propose solutions
  • Providing expert guidance to clients, design teams, and contractors
  • Conducting site visits, inspections, and fire risk assessments as required
  • Supporting junior fire engineers and contributing to technical leadership within the team
  • Ensuring projects meet the latest regulations, standards, and best practice guidance

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a fire engineer, ideally in a consultancy environment
  • A degree in Fire Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong understanding of UK fire safety regulations, Approved Documents, and British Standards
  • Excellent report writing, stakeholder engagement, and technical problem-solving skills
  • Progression towards, or attainment of, chartership (CEng / MIFireE / MIFSM) is desirable
