Job Description:

A rare opportunity to lead the estimating and tender function for a highly successful construction business working in underground mines across tier one clients nationally. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will lead all estimating and tender activities for the business, ensuring that our bid proposals are accurate and competitive. Supported by your team of estimators, you will be responsible for developing the business's opportunity pipeline.

Job Responsibility:

  • Build up tender prices from first principles based on scope of works, plans, specifications, and program
  • Engage with clients to discuss project briefs and develop project scopes
  • Prepare and negotiate tender submissions
  • Oversee and manage tender responses, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and compliance with project requirements
  • Utilize your extensive Civil estimating background to contribute directly to major projects and complex tenders
  • Coach, mentor and train staff within the department

Requirements:

  • Experience tendering on projects valued at $10 million and upwards
  • First principle estimating experience and understanding
  • Ability to estimate across all construction sectors would be advantageous
  • Organised and detailed with a high level of accuracy
  • Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
