Job Description:

Senior Engineering Manager role in Banking As A Service Technology within Payments Technology. Responsible for leading and growing a team of talented software engineers, providing technical direction, execution, and delivery of critical software projects. Plays a key role in shaping engineering culture, driving innovation, and ensuring delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.

Job Responsibility:

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers
Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching and feedback
Recruit, hire, and onboard new team members
Provide technical guidance and leadership to the team
Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, and timelines
Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of high-quality software solutions
Ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of our systems
Drive innovation by exploring new technologies and approaches
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery
Develop and maintain project plans, track progress, and identify and mitigate risks
Communicate project status to stakeholders regularly
Implement and improve agile development processes
Contribute to the overall engineering strategy and roadmap
Align team goals with company objectives

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
Master's degree preferred
15+ years of experience in software development
5+ years of experience in a management or leadership role, leading software engineering teams
Proven track record of successfully delivering complex software projects
Experience with agile development methodologies
Proficiency in Java
Experience with database systems - ORASS
Preferred experience with cloud platforms - AWS, Azure, etc
Strong knowledge of repository and version control systems - Bitbucket, Git
Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools
Experience in using SDLC management tools - JIRA
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
Ability to motivate and inspire a team
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Nice to have:

Experience with developing client facing APIs for Banking Industry
Contributions to open-source projects
