The Role: We are seeking an experienced Senior Building Services Electrical Design Engineer on behalf of our esteemed client, an established Mechanical, Electrical & Public Health (MEP) engineering design consultancy based in London. Our client's portfolio boasts a wide range of projects varying in scale and complexity. They're committed to projects aiming to achieve BREEAM targets and compliance with The London Plan, emphasising renewable and low energy solutions. We're on the lookout for professionals capable of client interactions, adept at collaboration with internal and external design teams.

Job Responsibility:

  • Production and review of electrical system designs and specifications
  • Undertaking design calculations and generating technical reports
  • Conducting site surveys
  • Coordinating with external and internal design teams
  • Contributing to practice improvements and work methods
  • Representing the company in client interactions
  • Leading selected projects and working collaboratively on various projects
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Attending meetings and delivering client presentations
  • Promoting technical excellence within the team
  • Monitoring project costs, timelines, and deliverables

Requirements:

  • HNC/Degree in Electrical or building services
  • Working towards Chartership with a professional membership of a relevant institute (CIBSE, IET, IMechE, IHEEM)
  • A solid track record in building services design (5-10 years minimum design experience) and at least 2 years in a similar role
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Hevacomp, Amtech, Excel, MS Project, etc.
  • Familiarity with British standards, building regulations documents, and HTMs
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to lead design team meetings and build rapport with clients

Nice to have:

Experience in Electrical Engineering services systems designs across diverse building types, particularly those related to healthcare
