Job Description:

Embark on a transformative journey as a Senior Development Lead - Vice President. At Barclays, every day is an opportunity to innovate. As a Development Lead you will lead engineering teams, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions, driving technical excellence, fostering a culture of innovation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align technical decisions with business objectives. Additionally, you will serve as an individual contributor towards the technical implementation of our strategic Settlement stack for Cash Settlements.

Job Responsibility:

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture
  • Strong experience with DevOps toolchains and cloud-native deployments
  • Deep understanding of financial systems, especially in post-trade and cash settlements workflows
  • Familiarity with SWIFT messaging, ISO 20022, and reconciliation processes
  • Proven track record in delivering secure, scalable, and resilient systems
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven track record in collaborating with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and QA to deliver features in Agile sprints
  • Ability to act as a technical mentor and coach to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills with stakeholders at all levels
  • Leadership skills with strong level of experience in IT software development, Strong analytical and problem-solving skill
