Job Description:

Senior Data Scientist role at TUI Group's Customer AI & Rapid Prototyping department, driving company-wide AI adoption and developing innovative AI solutions and personalized customer experiences that create measurable business value in the travel industry.

Job Responsibility:

Create innovative algorithms that solve real business challenges
Drive smart decisions and deliver meaningful impact for customers
Work with stakeholders both technical and non-technical
Break down complexity to a relatable level and communicate key points
Manage projects in an agile manner
Help junior colleagues break down their tasks
Develop prototypes to prove value of solutions
Support projects to accelerate into production
Solve business problems and automate processes
Use cloud environments to advantage
Consult on possible solutions including pros and cons
Source required data from different areas
Do research and stay informed on new developments in data science
Evaluate new options and revisit productionised solutions for improvement
Share knowledge with team and data science community

Requirements:

Degree or equivalent experience in computer science, mathematics, or related analytical field
Proven experience applying advanced data science methods to real-world business problems
Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, statistical modelling, and data analysis
Proficiency in Python and SQL writing production-quality code
Hands-on experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and platforms like Snowflake
Solid understanding of data architectures (e.g., Data Lakes, Data Warehouses) and DevSecOps in cloud environments
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative, agile development practices
Skilled in data visualisation and storytelling to communicate insights clearly and effectively
Customer-focused engineer with a passion for crafting high-quality digital products, continuous improvement, and effective team collaboration
Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with an understanding of the social, legal, and ethical impact of AI technologies
