Job Description:

We are looking for a highly motivated Data Scientist / Python Developer to join our Order Allocation team and play a key role in shaping the logistics of fulfilling customer orders at IKEA. We want a team player who likes combining technical expertise with business curiosity. Do you have a strong math and programming background? Do you enjoy developing algorithms to improve business decisions? Then this is a great opportunity for you!

Job Responsibility:

Designing, implementing, and refining analysis and optimisation algorithms to improve order allocation and fulfillment efficiency
Developing and deploying high-quality Python solutions that integrate with our tech infrastructure
Continuously improving algorithms and discussing solution alternatives in cross-functional teams
Studying fulfilment processes and understanding the optimisation and analysis problems therein

Requirements:

Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field
Strong background in Python development: clean and modular code design, test-driven development, CI/CD, logging and monitoring, etc.
Expertise in code performance and algorithm design for optimisation and analysis models (e.g., operations research implementations)
Proactive attitude and critical thinking in understanding business needs and proposing pragmatic solutions
Team spirit and ability to work in cross-functional teams with product owners, data scientists, data analysts, and software engineers
