Job Description:

The Data Governance Senior Analyst is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the Payments and data governance workstreams. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel, and/or facilitating services

Job Responsibility:

Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flows
Coordinates and contributes to the objectives of data science initiatives and overall business through leveraging in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function
Assumes informal/formal leadership role through coaching and training of new recruits
Significantly influences decisions, work, and performance of all teams through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in the business
Conducts strategic data analysis, identifies insights and implications and makes strategic recommendations, develops data displays that clearly communicate complex analysis
Mines and analyses data from various payments application platforms to drive optimization and improve data quality
Leads Data Stewardship activities for Payment Domain
Delivers analytics initiatives to address business problems with the ability to identify data required, assess time & effort required and establish a project plan
Consults with business clients to identify system functional specifications
Applies comprehensive understanding of how multiple areas collectively integrate to contribute towards achieving business goals
Consults with users and clients to solve complex system issues/problems through in-depth evaluation of business processes, systems and industry standards, recommends solutions
Leads system change process from requirements through implementation
provides user and operational support of application to business users
Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives for complex projects through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry standards
Impacts the business directly by ensuring the quality of work provided by self and others, impacts own team and closely related work teams
Considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment, identifies and communicates risks and impacts
Drives communication between business leaders and IT, exhibits sound and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills to exchange complex information
Appropriately assesses risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency

Requirements:

8+ years of relevant experience in Data Governance, Data Management or related roles including support of data standards/policies
Data Quality Issue management experience
At least 5+ years of experience in banking and financial services industry, preferably Payments domain
Experience with data management processes, tools, and applications, including Data Quality, Data Lineage, Data Cataloguing, Data/ Process mapping
Ability to communicate (both verbal and written) in a clear, confident, and open-minded manner to build trusting partnerships with a wide variety of audiences and stakeholders at different levels

Nice to have:

Experience in data profiling and writing SQL queries
Ability to effectively use complex analytical, interpretive and problem-solving techniques
