Our Calgary client is seeking a Cybersecurity Advisor for an initial 12-month contract to provide holistic security guidance across their enterprise. In this role, you will join a high-performing Cybersecurity Office, working closely with enterprise architects and business partners to ensure secure strategic outcomes. Job Responsibility:
Provide technical and non-technical security consulting to project teams to ensure safe business outcomes
Evaluate and manage the health of security barriers and controls using established architecture standards
Research current technology trends and advancements to influence future security capabilities
Develop strong relationships across the organization to act as a primary security advisor
Analyze high-level risks to ensure the efficient placement and efficacy of cyber risk barriers
Advise on the specific requirements and implementation details for new cybersecurity solutions
Support the long-term strategy for cybersecurity governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) initiatives
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Cybersecurity, IT, or Operational Technology (OT) domains
Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, ISA/IEC 62443, or CIS CSC
Working knowledge of security tools including NGFW, SIEM, vulnerability management, and endpoint security
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders
