Job Description:

We are looking for Construction Project Manager to manage design and construction of data centers and major renovation projects.

Job Responsibility:

  • Follow up on pending permitting requests (building permit and/or environmental authorization)
  • Prioritize deadlines and deliverables to ensure projects are on track
  • Manage relationships with local and national administrative authorities
  • Prepare and coordinate environmental authorization applications
  • Compile and submit administrative permit applications
  • Monitor regulatory developments
  • Support entire design phase to ensure that the target data center meets Data4’s and Customer’s needs
  • Lead engineering teams for the design phases
  • Act as interface between Operations and Design teams
  • Actively participate in the tendering phase and awarding of contracts
  • Track project updates, project status, uncovering and relaying issues, solutions resolution and cost/budget
  • Monitor the realization phase daily to ensure that the work complies with the contracts
  • Manage the respect of the Health and Safety rules during the whole construction phase
  • Manage service providers with a direct contractual link with the project owner
  • Act as an interface between the Operations and Construction teams
  • Manage the commissioning operations
  • Gradually put the operations team of the future site in a position to take over the site
  • Conduct all meetings necessary to manage the project
  • Document the project, including as-built documentation
  • Generate the reporting required for this type of operation
  • Ensure the budgetary follow-up of the project
  • Financial oversight on capital budget allocation, expense, and cost
  • Implement automation tools and techniques to streamline and enhance processes
  • Elaboration of a Data4 Design Specification
  • Assistance to Sales/Pre-Sales teams in complex pre-sales processes
  • Participation in customer audits for the design of Data Centers
  • Leading specific missions
  • Supporting the operational team on specific subjects
  • Technical referent for our Key Accounts and Hyperscalers customers
  • Ensure the technological watch on the best practices of design and implementation of data centers at the international level
  • Participation, if necessary, in specialized events
  • Visits to Data Centers (customers, competitors, others.)

Requirements:

  • Ideally a graduate of higher education (Engineer or equivalent) in the field of electrical/climate engineering or generalist
  • Experience: at least 5 years within a construction project management company, a design office, or even an installer on project management issues
  • Proven track record in project management, preferably in the hosting or service integration industries
  • Good level in civil works and/or HVAC and/or Electrical and/or Security/Networks and/or BMS
  • Knowledge in general design of industrial buildings with issues close to Data Centers (continuity of service, security, etc.)
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and with others
  • Ability to work simultaneously with several projects
  • Ability to analyze and summarize
  • Ability to “popularize” the technique and the benefits for non-experts
  • Good command of document writing
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and AutoCAD applications
  • English with a very good written/oral level

Nice to have:

  • Project Management training such as PMI or equivalent
  • Experience working in English-speaking environments
  • Experience managing projects in an occupied site (preferred)
