Job Description:

The post holder will be dynamic and enthusiastic with the ability to inform and inspire students. Using their clinical experience of General Practice, the successful candidate will be able to nurture the skills and knowledge required of the modern day medical graduate. This is a formal 10% full-time equivalent (FTE) role with the University which requires commitment through the academic year. The post holder will be supported by the existing University GP and Community Medical Education (GPCME) team. The post holder will join an existing team of 23 other GPs in this role.

  • Calibrates various therapy machines, measures instruments against national standards, and measures therapy beam data for treatment planning purposes
  • Leads and facilitates the troubleshooting process, works collaboratively with Medical Engineers
  • Operates and performs quality assurance (QA) on equipment as required
  • Writes specifications and commissions therapy equipment and accessories and designs new techniques and ancillary equipment
  • Performs and oversees commissioning and acceptance testing for therapies and accessories, and for standardizing equipment calibration
  • Collaborates with other senior staff to develop and maintain a QA program for departmental treatment modalities and imaging devices
  • Works with Physicians to gather data, analyze outcomes and develop new processes and protocols
