Job Description:

An expert Senior Casualty Underwriter is required to form a key part of Chubb’s Northern Region Property & Casualty Underwriting Team. Responsibilities include underwriting, portfolio management, product development, producer management, and training junior colleagues.

Job Responsibility:

Underwrite new business or renewals according to defined underwriting guidelines
assist in formulating underwriting strategy, forecasts and portfolio management
ensure quality control by undertaking quantitative underwriting reviews and management meetings
develop products to improve client retention and new business
service key producers and clients
monitor business acquisition and retention
manage junior colleagues through mentoring, training, and coaching
represent and promote Chubb corporately to brokers, clients and internally.

Requirements:

Recognised externally for considerable market experience
comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of legal liability and casualty underwriting
underwriting multinational programmes is preferred
significant experience of the Insurance market and competitors
experience of dealing with brokers and clients
communication, organisation, IT, presentation, and negotiation skills
results driven with ability to make decisions and work on own initiative
experience in leadership, training, mentoring and people development
ACII & IOSH/Nebosh qualifications are preferred but not essential.

Nice to have:

Underwriting multinational programmes experience
ACII & IOSH/Nebosh qualifications
