Senior Big Data Engineer

• Work with core team and deliver solutions using Impala/Hive, Parquet, Kafka and related Big Data Technologies
• Requirement gathering and understanding
• Analyze and convert functional requirements into concrete technical tasks and provide reasonable effort estimates
• Responsible for end-to-end project delivery within schedule and with required level of quality
• Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals
• Identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements
• Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards
• Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming
• Ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint
• Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business integrate to accomplish business goals
• Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions
• Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made
• Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations

• 8-10 years' relevant experience in Technology development and delivering projects
• Experience in enterprise scale multi region project development and tracking initiatives
• Experience in banking/capital markets or Risk or Finance
• Experience in leading large Big Data Development Program on Cloudera Platform
• Hands on Experience in different tech stacks in big data including Spark (on Scala and Java), Hive, and Impala
• Strong experience in Relational and No-SQL databases
• Experience of development methodologies such as SDLC, Agile
• Experience in size estimation, structure of BRD/FRD and project plan preparation
• Experience in test methodologies (functional, regression, performance)
• Complete project lifecycle exposure
• Exposure/experience in enterprise level platform development
• Ability to manage high performance teams in high pressure delivery environment
• Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications
• Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations
• Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Master's degree preferred
