We are seeking a talented Senior Avionics Design Engineer to support a world class airborne surveillance, communications and battle management system, the E-7A Wedgetail.
Job Responsibility:
Work as a senior member with the team, guiding and mentoring junior engineers
Provide technical leadership in delivering minor and major capability upgrades to the platform from the concept stage to aircraft in service
Develop installation designs for equipment in a mid-service life aircraft fleet
Produce engineering artefacts iaw Boeing processes & specs, and the platform EMS
Develop repair & modification instructions for integration into the existing aircraft in accordance with the approved Engineering Management System
Work towards gaining Engineering Authority and Delegations on the platforms you will be supporting
Support the organization in developing ‘people first', ‘team capability' as well as supporting process and tool developments
Requirements:
A Bachelor Engineering qualification in either Aeronautical, Aerospace, Electrical or a related tertiary Engineering degree qualification satisfying the requirements for membership with Engineers Australia (MIEAust)
The ability to obtain RPEQ within 18 months is required
7+ years experience in aviation engineering activities including design development, engineering investigations and issuance of authorised documentation relating to aircraft structure, mechanical and subsystem designs
Previous experience in developing engineering artefacts within a regulated aviation environment such as, the Defence Aviation Safety Regulation (DASR) environment or similar (CASA, FAA, EASA, etc.)
