Job Description:

SoundCloud is looking for a Senior Android Engineer to join our growing Platform Enablement team. This is a central engineering team that supports various initiatives around SoundCloud, including marketing technology, privacy, consent and observability across web and mobile devices. As a mobile engineer on this team, you will be collaborating with other SoundCloud mobile engineers in support of the Platform Enablement roadmap. You can expect a fast paced environment, and a variety of types of projects. Great communication skills are a must!

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and maintain various SoundCloud initiatives on Android, including MarTech, analytics, privacy, consent and growth
  • Contribute to the modernization of our codebase by refactoring and modularizing components using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
  • Support experimentation and data-driven product development by integrating A/B testing and tracking into mobile features
  • Build and optimize UI components using Jetpack Compose, with a focus on performance, accessibility, and platform consistency
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including product, design, backend, and analytics—to define, build, and iterate on features
  • Take part in architectural decisions, code reviews, and engineering best practices to ensure maintainable, scalable mobile development

Requirements:

  • Professional experience building Android applications using Kotlin
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming and Jetpack Compose
  • Comfortable working in and improving large, existing codebases
  • Eager to learn new technologies, experiment, and continuously improve as an engineer
