Analytical Scientist, in the R&D setting will be responsible for leading Analytical workstreams for operating companies within WBC category. The role will have heavy interactions and coordination across cross functional teams in operating companies - product development team, quality, regulatory and external contract labs to ensure timely delivery of the objectives.
Job Responsibility:
Collaborate with contract laboratories to outsource analytical method development and validation activities
Develop protocols or scopes of work for method development, validation, verification, and troubleshooting
Review relevant formulation inputs and apply validated scientific methodologies
Oversee the life cycle and operational aspects of analytical methods
Analyze method validation data to inform conclusions and lead method optimization
Design and conduct analytical investigations, providing root cause analysis
Support calculations for product formulation, specifications, and research and development requirements
Facilitate analysis of FP, in-process and raw material samples
Ensure timely execution of key project deliverables, and accurate recording, reporting, and interpretation of data
Assist in resolving analytical challenges within the business
When needed support for Stability study workflows
Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related scientific discipline (with emphasis on Analytical Chemistry preferred)
advanced degrees such as a master’s or PhD are desirable
A minimum of 10, 8, or 5 years of relevant industry experience in Analytical Sciences is required for Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD holders, respectively
Extensive hands-on experience in method development and validation procedures across categories including dietary supplements, foods, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical products
Proven ability to apply scientific principles and methodologies to complex projects, including analytical root cause analysis for product stability
Demonstrated expertise and practical knowledge in analytical techniques such as HPLC, LC-MS, GC, ICP, spectroscopy, and other relevant techniques
Comprehensive understanding of standard compendial monographs, including USP, BP, EP, ICH, ISO, FASSI, IP, and AOAC etc.
Strong adherence to GMPs, good laboratory practices, and meticulous documentation standards
Nice to have:
Working experience in Food, Beverage, Health Supplements products including product development/sensory understanding
Good understanding of the Functional food and Wellness category
Good understanding of nutrition science, product specifications, nutritional Fact standards with core requirements of the subject matter expertise
